We used this guide primarily for Mendoza and for Buenos Aires, and I found it very helpful. There were a lot of useful tidbits on local culture and customs (such as the water bottle shrines along the highway), and the reviews of places to stay and dine and explore were up to date and relevant. My only complaint was that the number of restaurants reviewed in Buenos Aires was quite limited...I would have preferred to have had more establishments reviewed there.I understand the problem...there are SO MANY restuarants there! But, it would be nice to have more of them reviewed...sometimes we heard from others about possible places to eat, but could find no review.Other than that, however, the book was great.

Great guide for getting a quick and comprehensive overview of Argentina.Although primarily focused on Buenos Aires, it gives the reader a fast grasp on what seem to be the essentials in many areas of life, both personal and business.Highly recommended!

What this guide lacks is any real good color pictures of the landscape, historically significant buildings, parks, etc. so as to make identification easier when we visit.

While the info was great, it would certainly help in presentation to include photos of the areas discussed.

Considering this is ONE guide for an entire huge country, it serves more as either an introductory guide before you go, or on a multi-city trip where you are not spending more than two days anywhere. If your stay is longer in any one spot, you need to compliment this with additional detailed local guides or you'll wish you had more. But again, for its purpose as an overall Argentina guide, it is excellent. The Eyewitness guides are the best when it comes to presenting a destination in its totality: history, culture, etc in addition to sites.
