While the info was great, it would certainly help in presentation to include photos of the areas discussed. Posted on September 26, 2010 Carter Tersteeg says... I am so happy I purchased this product, it has saved me time and money in planning my trip to Argentina. Posted on September 29, 2010 Gwen Lovelock says... We used this guide primarily for Mendoza and for Buenos Aires, and I found it very helpful. There were a lot of useful tidbits on local culture and customs (such as the water bottle shrines along the highway), and the reviews of places to stay and dine and explore were up to date and relevant. My only complaint was that the number of restaurants reviewed in Buenos Aires was quite limited...I would have preferred to have had more establishments reviewed there.I understand the problem...there are SO MANY restuarants there! But, it would be nice to have more of them reviewed...sometimes we heard from others about possible places to eat, but could find no review.Other than that, however, the book was great. Posted on September 29, 2010 Mindi Shank says... What this guide lacks is any real good color pictures of the landscape, historically significant buildings, parks, etc. so as to make identification easier when we visit. JP Posted on September 29, 2010 Edelmira Sammarco says... The pictures are beautiful and the information is helpful.I can't wait to go to Argentina! Posted on September 30, 2010 Ivory Servoss says... I have great respect for much of Frommer's work but this book was a disappointment. I had found a terrific place to stay through the internet and was looking for more information about the city, its history, and the culture.I find that once restaurants have made the guide books, they often fail to live up to the hype.Consulting "local knowledge" seems to be the best way to find restaurants and entertainment.Even the maps were sometimes misleading. Sorry I can't suggest another guide.I'm a big fan of the Eyewitness Guides but there doesn't seem to be one for Buenos Aires. Posted on October 1, 2010 Tequila Mehis says... Considering this is ONE guide for an entire huge country, it serves more as either an introductory guide before you go, or on a multi-city trip where you are not spending more than two days anywhere. If your stay is longer in any one spot, you need to compliment this with additional detailed local guides or you'll wish you had more. But again, for its purpose as an overall Argentina guide, it is excellent. The Eyewitness guides are the best when it comes to presenting a destination in its totality: history, culture, etc in addition to sites. Posted on October 2, 2010 Tyree Kuick says... This book is GREAT!It has pictures, maps, dining recommendations, etc. This book was put to work when I went to Argentina. Posted on October 5, 2010 Arron Fosmire says... I sure like this edition overall, though it had some shortcomings for my specific trip's purposes. Classic Frommers style -- concise, tight, useful info. Good complement to my other guides -- TimeOut Buenos Aires, Footprint and Fodors. Some key items about towns and lodging in Mendoza region I only found in Frommers. But, was weak on info for NW-Salta-JuyJuy region as compared to the others. Posted on October 7, 2010 Blossom Deese says... This product was as represented and arrived in a timely manner.
