No. The Immigration Act 1971 introduced patriality which effectively removed the right of abode from Commonwealth citizens unless they has sufficiently strong links to the UK, such as ancestry. This was a reaction to rising tensions concerning mass immigration at the time from Asian and African Commonwealth countries.
