It's sad to say, but I found the book somehow disappointing. The pictures and the books is beautiful, but I would describe it as "narrow" in its selection. I come from Buenos Aires, so I know you can find some many different styles and periods reflected in the architecture and decoration style around the city and even more when you move out of the city (estancias in the Province of Buenos Aires, but also houses in other provinces, specially Salta and Cordoba). So it came to me as a surprise that out of 22 places, the book picks 4 houses designed by the same architect. Yes, the houses are different, but you can see some similarities in the style, which is also find again in some of the others country houses featured in the book. A feast for the senses, your eyes will be delighted, some interior decorating books are a collage of seen before pictures with little that is truly fresh, this book is full of really vintage and retro character and comfort, love the 30's apartments full of marble from Uraquay, granite and terrazo and brassware ! I am so happy I purchased this product, it has saved me time and money in planning my trip to Argentina. Posted on October 3, 2010 John Vaux says... Considering this is ONE guide for an entire huge country, it serves more as either an introductory guide before you go, or on a multi-city trip where you are not spending more than two days anywhere. If your stay is longer in any one spot, you need to compliment this with additional detailed local guides or you'll wish you had more. But again, for its purpose as an overall Argentina guide, it is excellent. The Eyewitness guides are the best when it comes to presenting a destination in its totality: history, culture, etc in addition to sites. Posted on October 3, 2010 Kaycee Bowker says... Great images, excellent quality and expansive descriptions of the latest trends in Argentina. Very useful for someone interested in design and new ideas, as well as those planning a trip to South America. They are very few, reliable publications of this sort available. Good buy!
