These are some serious boots.Waterproof, sturdy leather, great traction, etc.The tongue is stitched to the rest of the boot so water can't seep in.The padded ankle is definitely a nice touch.I'm very pleased with the quality overall and would definitely buy another pair when these eventually wear out. For sizing, I typically wear a size 12 for sneakers (size 11 for Chuck Taylors).I ended up buying size 11.5 and they fit comfortably with room for a pair of thick socks. The boots were exactly as I expected. They are a bit hard to get on and off at first like any boots, but once worn-in, they are supremely comfortable.I was skeptical at first choosing the red color ones because if the picture was inaccurate I would end up with some bright red tacky boots, but when I got them they looked just like the picture (a very nice brick tone color) so I was very satisfied with my order. The order took as usual about a week. Great price at the time of my purchase!--couldn't find anything comparable at this cost--although price seems to have gone up since. Posted on June 29, 2011 Hal Persaud says... I love timberland boots, I've been wearing them for the past 5 years and overall I was very satisfied with them. However this last pair that I bought disappointed me a bit though. I've had to send them back after a few months because I was getting a very annoying sound from each one on every step I took. The return was easy, and I got my refund. I bought a new pair at a store, and have been wearing them for about 6 months now, but I a starting to get the same sound of one of the pairs. This issue needs solving fast. These boots are great for people who like to walk a lot, and not nesecarely walking on concrete. I just hope the quality gets back to where it used to be. These boots were exactly what my 17-year-old son wanted, but when we ordered his regular shoe size, they were way too big.He needed them for a trip, so we didn't have time to exchange them by mail.He tried on two other pairs at a local sporting goods store, and ended up with a full size smaller than his regular shoe size.I wish that the website had provided advice on sizing. My son needed these boots for his EMT class. They are perfect! They cannot have steel-toed shoes because of the danger of cutting off toes, so these shoes have really fit the bill!Very durable for the job but comfortable, too! A very well made and comfortable boot.I feel as if the Timberland Co. has been declining in recent years but they have never once forgotten what got that company off the ground.I had a pair of these before and they lasted about four years. Posted on July 3, 2011 Donn Folland says... Timberland makes very high quality boots for men; and these "Classic 6" Premium Boot Boots" for guys are no exception. They are durable and they never let in a single drop of water no matter what. They fit tight the first few times you wear them; but with a little bit of time they gradually become remarkably comfortable and that's excellent. They last forever, too! These boots come with such a strong, water-proof type of leather that once you try them in the rain, slush or heavy snow you'll never go back to wearing boots from other manufacturers. You could wear these practically every single day throughout a bad winter; these boots insulate your feet and ankles from snow, slush, freezing rain or whatever. Moreover, these boots are great for walking around construction sites and other areas where there just isn't any smooth pavement. Timberland boots will never let you down. Never! If you wish, you can do what a friend of mine does--spray just a bit of water repellant onto them before you wear them the first time. However, this is strictly optional. I don't use water repellant spray on these boots; they keep my feet warm and dry as is. Amazon states that they will not rust; but I don't know why leather would rust unless they are referring to the holes where you lace up your boots. I highly recommend this boots by Timberland--guys, you won't regret this purchase. Posted on July 3, 2011 Mindi Beales says... Its not very good. Its not well made or durable and it don't looks that good. Its way over priced and its uncomfortable to wear Posted on July 4, 2011 Danilo Miserendino says... great for the winter, for work or for metal-head fashion. i'm using it for all 3. when you look inside these things, you see why it's famous for being waterproof. the traction is also great for ice/snow. i walk/bike to work almost daily and so will be looking forward to the colder months as i blast danzig on my ipod and trudge through the elements with a cigarillo between my lips. just as god intended.
